About Us

Friends of Kiandu is a grass roots project, initiated by four Aussie mates, to improve the education of the children of Kiandu Village in Kenya.

The main focus is on fixing up the very dilapidated Kiandu Primary school. We have a bunch of gorgeous but hungry children trying to learn in a ramshackle school in classrooms with no floors, getting bitten by ‘jiggers’ and wiping their bums with their exercise book pages because the school can’t even afford toilet paper! These little cuties need some help! This community realises the value of education in raising them all out of poverty and the kids are really trying hard to get good grades but many are struggling with the adversity they are facing.

Currently Friends of Kiandu is just us four mates (with limited resources) but we would love to expand this to a big family of friends all committed to the vision of giving these children the education they deserve and the tools to lift themselves and their community out of the cycle of poverty.
